Hi, it's me! I'm back!
I hope you all had a very nice Easter. Thank you very much for the greetings and e-mails with good wishes. I was in Poland! We were not there alone. We were with our English friends, for whom visiting Poland was a novelty. The weather was 100% great. It’s hard to believe that it started snowing there as soon as we left!
It is impossible to describe all the sights and places. But just a glance will show you how we spent our time. On Palm Sunday Zosia waved a palm while running between church benches. During Holy Week, our little girl met three little ducks. She later looked for them in the Easter basket. Or maybe she was looking for eggs, painted by her sister? We visited churches and tombs. We were also at Jasna Gora. Over Easter, Zosia ate quite a lot of sausages and ham, so she reached for dry bread and ate it with undisguised relish.
During “Smingus-Dyngus” (a polish tradition on Easter Monday during which people splash water on each other throughout the day), the girls shot a lot of water ammunition.
Zapoznaliśmy się z jegomościem turkuciem podjadkiem i dokładnie go sobie obejrzeliśmy.
Niesamowite, ile takie stworzenie potrafi wyrządzić szkód w ogrodach.
We met an interesting garden pest and we carefully observed it. Amazing, how such a creature can cause so much damage to gardens.
There were beautiful and loud frog concerts in the evenings. Sometimes it was hard to sleep...
We visited a German concentration camp at Auschwitz and Birkenau. Horrible place, one of many such in Europe. A difficult lesson of history and an attempt to show the truth about the Nazi Germans to my eldest child and guests.
Kopalnia soli w Wieliczce zawsze zachwycała i tak jest do dziś.
On the way to the Wieliczka salt mine we visited Wadowice, the birth place of pope John Paul II.
The Wieliczka Salt Mine was always beautiful, just like that day.
Cracow. Cracow - what can I say - it is beautiful. I always feel wonderful there, maybe because it is so full of fascinating history. Our guests were enchanted! St. Mary's Church and Sukiennice, the Wawel chambers (we had a lovely guide) and many others.... I could spend hours in Sukiennice admiring all these handmade things. There were lots of them on the streets too. My girls also visited the stalls. The drinks prices in cafes in the old market were so just like in London. The Wawel Dragon delights children, although he breathes fire too short and too seldom.
Going from Krakow to Czestochowa we spent a nice time in Jura. Wonderful views.
Jasna Gora also impressed our guests and they were amazed at the number of people who pray to the Black Madonna. We walked, we played games and ate sausages.
At that time, I could admire the many items that have been sent to me. Here some gifts from Przyjaźni pasjami pisanej which came to me in an exchange of books organized by Sabinka. Thank you for the parcel.
Inne cuda, które mogłam wreszcie dotknąć i podziwiać pochodzą od Bożenki. To moje wygrane candy. Frywolitkowa biżuteria, kartki i dodatki, które mają mnie zachęcić do spróbowania sił w kartkach, bardzo mi się podobają. Dziękuję jeszcze raz- jesteś bardzo utalentowana Bożenko!
Other things that I could touch and admire come from Bożenka. That's the candy I won. Tatted jewelry, cards and accessories that have encouraged me to try my hand at making cards. I like them very much. Thank you again-you're very talented, Bożenka!
I received other parcels as well, thank you for the all of them. Miraculously, we got home. We had a heavily laden car. Just the books on their own weighed about 100kg, no exaggeration. I bought half of the antique book shop - ha, ha, ha .... And some empik (bookshop).
To chyba tyle na dziś…. Starałam się pisać jak najkrócej…. Pozdrawiam was serdecznie i może lada chwila wrócę wreszcie do świata artystyczno-robótkowego!
I think this is all for today. I tried to keep it as short as possible .... I greet you warmly, and I may return at any moment finally back to the world of arts and crafts!
